Description
CD by civil rights leader Bayard Rustin—architect of the 1963 March on Washington, adviser to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, and organizer of the first Freedom Ride in 1947—was not only a prominent member of the Fellowship of Reconciliation but also an accomplished singer. Here, he beautifully sings 26 songs in a compilation of two albums from the 1950s, “Elizabethan Songs and Negro Spirituals” and “Bayard Rustin Sings Twelve Spirituals on the Life of Christ.”
