Fellowship of Reconciliation Tacoma, Olympia, and Seattle chapters are pleased to present long time peace and justice advocate and FOR member, D’vorah Kost. A Jewish Seattleite, D’vorah has made many trips to Israel and Palestine over the years, and often led children in creative activities involving music, acting, crafts, and games.

D’vorah returned in May from her second recent trip to Cairo. She wants to serve the Gazan community that survives the genocide. In Cairo, D’vorah lives with a Gazan family she befriended in 2015, whom she helped to escape the war. Recently, sisters, brothers, cousins, friends, were able to cross to Cairo, from the Rafah border which is now closed.

Devorah says, “Being able to witness this extended family manage the unexpected upheaval of their lives while contending with unimaginable loss and grief has been an intensely meaningful experience. At the same time, expressions of love and faith, humor and even joy and laughter, are part of their survival tactics, for which I am enormously grateful.”
