The Struggle of Western Sahara for Self-Determination – Nonviolence & Islam

Join FOR-USA and Nonviolence International for a webinar on one of the world’s longest-standing occupations: Western Sahara.

The event opens with a political-historical overview of the occupation, followed by exploration of the nonviolent resistance movement led by the Saharawi people—how communities have organized, documented abuses, and sustained resilience under repression.

Speakers:

  • Salka Barca – Western Sahara Solidarity Committee & Karama Sahara
  • Nayua Aduh – Committee Against the Exploitation of the Saharawi People
  • Mulay Sid Ahmed – Saharawi Association in the USA (SAUSA)
  • David Wildman – Over 30 years in faith-based international justice work

Hosted by: Susan Smith, FOR-USA Director of Operations and Community Engagement

Co-sponsored by Western Sahara Solidarity Committee.
