FOR-USA Conference of 1914

In response to the immediate needs of pacifists from different philosophical and spiritual traditions, members came to the United States. The Church of Brethren, Mennonites, and Religious Society of Friends helped secure legal rights for all war objectors.

Henry Hodgkin traveled to the United States and met with 68 women and men for a two-day conference, November 11-12, in Garden City, Long Island, New York. Shortly after that gathering, the U.S. The FOR-USA branch was launched, and within months, more than a thousand members had joined
