War Resisters' International Founded

War Resisters’ International (WRI) was founded in Bilthoven, Netherlands in 1921 under the name “Paco”, which means “peace” in Esperanto. WRI adopted a founding declaration that has remained unchanged: War is a crime against humanity. WRI is therefore determined not to support any kind of war and to strive for the removal of all causes of war.
