How Do We Heal a Wounded World?:
An Evening with Mohsen Mahdawi
Join the Fellowship of Reconciliation-USA and the FOR Metro NY/NJ Chapter for a special hybrid program with 2026 Wink Fellow Mohsen Mahdawi on the evening of Thursday, October 8. The in-person program will take place at the Stony Point Center Art Space from 6:30-8:30 pm, while virtual livestreaming will be available over Zoom starting at 7 pm.
Where do we locate the roots of nonviolence in our faith and organizing traditions? How do we come together to use these spiritual practices for deep looking and listening, courageous action and healing, to end wars, seek justice, and create a more peaceful future? Collectively, how might we heal our wounded world?
To explore these questions, the Fellowship of Reconciliation warmly welcomes you to a gathering with Mohsen Mahdawi: a Palestinian Buddhist peace activist, graduate student at Columbia University, and FOR-USA’s 2026-2027 Walter and June Wink Fellow.
In this intimate dialogue at the Stony Point Center Art Space, Mohsen will explore how the work for Palestinian freedom and immigrant justice interconnect with our collective aspiration for peace. We will also hear the latest on Mohsen’s interfaith organizing at FOR and ways that spiritual communities, faith leaders, and people of conscience can get involved.
FOR-USA’s Director of Operations and Community Engagement, Susan Smith, will then moderate a panel with Mohsen in conversation with FOR’s Interim Co-Executive Director Dr. Linda Alvarado-Arce and Nick Mottern from the Global Solidarity for Peace in Palestine Network and Veterans for Peace.
This will also be a special opportunity to meet new FOR Metro NY/NJ Chapter co-chair Eric Shōkei Manigian and reconnect with long-time co-chair Vince Artis.
This event is open to the public, with a suggested $15 donation for those joining in person. Light Palestinian fare will be served.
