Bayard Rustin Releases Albums for Fellowship Records

Back in Bayard Rustin’s college days, at Wilberforce College (Ohio) he sang and toured the country with the Wilberforce Quartet. He was already a Civil Rights activist during this time. Just before a trip to Africa while college secretary of the FOR, Bayard Rustin recorded a 10-inch LP for the Fellowship Records label called Bayard Rustin: The Singer and Bayard Rustin Sings Spirituals, Work, and Freedom Songs. He sang spirituals and Elizabethan songs, accompanied on the harpsichord by Margaret Davison.
