In this interview — broken into three short parts — Rev. Dr. Starsky Wilson discusses the disproportionate impact the coronavirus is having on African Americans in St. Louis, where the first 13 deaths were black people. Rev. Wilson was the President and CEO of Deaconess Foundation in St. Louis for nine years. In 2020, he was named president and CEO of the Children’s Defense Fund in Washington, D.C. He succeeds the legendary founder of the organization, Marian Wright Edelman. Rev. Wilson was also the former co-chair of the Ferguson Commission, tasked with making policy recommendations after the tragic death of Michael Brown, Jr.
