Unclench Our Fist: A Call to Prevent War with Iran sticky icon

A new wave of Cold War-style threats and covert actions have been directed against Iran, this time more serious than in the past. Seventy million people in Iran live each day in fear of war. For a free and demilitarized world

The Fellowship of Reconciliation pursues a vision of a free and “demilitarized” world in which the Earth’s resources sustain life and promote the well-being of all people.

To do so, we challenge economic exploitation, work to eradicate racism and religious intolerance, and call attention to imperialistic U.S. foreign policy.

As we continue to speak truth to power, FOR engages in an ongoing interfaith dialogue to shift the collective unconscious from a fear-based military culture to a peaceful world community grounded in faith and nonviolent justice.

Nonviolent social change is in the air, from Middle America to the Middle East. Yet we know that nonviolent social change movements aren’t spontaneous. They require midwives and mentors, and preparation of strong spirits, strong skills and solidarity.

The Muslim Brotherhood: A book review

Although Pan-Islamic and Pan-Arab movements have not been “federalist” in the sense that federalism is usually analysed, Pan-Islamic movements have been an effort to organize political community across State boundaries.

THIS IS SORT OF ABOUT THAT – The Rhinosceri ETC – Israel & Egypt Part III

The bus ride to Jerusalem from Rosh Pinna is a beautiful rollercoaster of a drive down into the Galilee Valley along the Sea to Tiberius and then back over the Judean Hills through Afula to Jerusalem. It is a bit like riding a troop transit, however, and a bit unsettling when most passengers on the bus are teen agers in khaki with their hands on the trigger of Uzis.

Beyond Occupation and Terror - part 3

This is the third part of a travelogue of my recent experience traveling to Israel/Palestine as part of an Christian-Jewish seminarian interfaith group; read the first part here and the second part
