The Development Department is prepared to assist donors and potential donors In facilitating the most effective and efficient giving arrangements.

The Fellowship of Reconciliation is a 501 (c) 3 organization, and donations are income tax deductible.  A copy of our certification may be sent.

Credit Cards: Donations, as well as literature orders, may be charged to Visa or Master  Card.  Just give account number and expiration date.

Appreciated Stocks may be given directly without paying any capital gains tax.

Charitable Gift Annuities may be issued in any amount of $2,000 or more, with payout of the standard rates recommended by the American Council on Gift Annuities, plus significant tax advantages.  For 2005 and following, payout rates vary from 5.7% at age 60, to 6% at age 65, 7.1%, at age 75, 8%, at age 80, or 11.3% at age 90.  Part of the income paid is tax exempt.  An annuity for any two lives is available at slightly less than the rate for the younger of the two.  Just send your date(s) of birth to get a printout of information.  Annuity payments may, if desired, be deferred to a later date such as retirement age, for a much higher payout.

Counsel on Planned Giving, and/or tax advantageous arrangements, is available.

Charitable Remainder Unitrusts may be arranged in any amount over the general range of $100,000, and individually designed to match the financial goals of the donor(s) as well as making a substantial contribution, eventually, towards the peacemaking program of the Fellowship.

Bequests strengthen and enhance the long-term mission and vision of the Fellow- ship.  The following form may be inserted in a Last Will and Testament:

I bequeath to Fellowship of Reconciliation, Inc., a religious corporation with headquarters at 521 North Broadway in the Village of Upper Nyack, County of Rockland, and State of New York, mail address  Box 271, Nyack, NY 10960, (the sum of _________dollars) or (___percent of my estate) or (____percent of my estate remaining after bequests previously indicated in this Will have been paid), to be used for its general purposes.

Wills Workshops can be brought to your group, existing or impromptu, giving considerable general information on writing a Will as well as approaches to charitable giving.  The Fellowship's Development Coordinator visits most - not quite all - of the 48 contiguous states every year or two.

A Living Endowment provides a means of strengthening both immediate and long term future work of the Fellowship.  Each year the Finance Committee designates between 5%, and 10%, of the endowment for current program; the rest, plus investment income, is held for future needs and opportunities.
