Love, honor, respect: Palestine arts delegation report 4
on
Here is one wall of five we painted in Romana, near Jenin. How sad that the elders who arranged for us to paint in the pre-school had to ask us to tell North Americans that they teach their children to love life, to honor guests, to respect each other. They do not train their children to be terrorists, they said.
We have loved working with the children, teachers, and families of Romana. They have been so appreciative of our contribution to their pre-school. We asked the children to offer their hands, which we drew and turned into birds, trees, and flowers. When they saw the mural they kept saying, Wow wow wow!
Each time we paint, we’re asked to do more and more! It is a true sign of success. We love the curious, playful, slightly mischievous and loving children. I hope we can organize another trip to this village in the near future.
