Dear friends of IFOR branches and affiliate groups,
Please take note of the open position of International Coordinator of IFOR. We encourage you to circulate this among your members and to potential candidates. Please note the attached PDF for more detailed information and the email address for applications. Thank you and best wishes to you all.
Hansuli John Gerber
President, International Fellowship of Reconciliation (IFOR)
Founded in 1919 in response to the horrors of war in Europe, the International Fellowship of Reconciliation (IFOR) has taken a consistent stance against war and its preparation throughout its history. Perceiving the need for healing and reconciliation in the world, the founders of IFOR formulated a vision of the human community based upon the belief that love in action has the power to transform unjust political, social, and economic structures.
IFOR today has 85 branches, groups, and affiliates in 51 countries.
The International Coordinator enables the IFOR International Committee to fulfill its functions as a decision-making body and implements strategic planning and the accomplishment of organizational objectives. The Coordinator oversees organizational and financial management. She/he takes direction from the decisions made by the IFOR Council and International Committee and carries out their mandates.
80% - 100%; 1 year, possibility to extend
Expectations: Because IFOR has taken a consistent stance against war and its preparation and is committed to active nonviolence, the International Coordinator is expected to have an understanding of and commitment to pacifism and faith-based active nonviolence. He/she is expected to articulate, promote and practice the values of nonviolence in all IFOR activities and partnerships and to nurture the spirit of fellowship among IFOR staff and affiliated groups and organizations.
Over the first several months the institutionalization process of the IFOR Program WPP will require special attention so as to help facilitate this process and foster communication and relationships with IFOR’s Branches, Groups, and Affiliates (BGAs).
